Stuffed Onions No. 1

Ingredients
- 8 Spanish onions
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white sauce
- 1 cup finely chopped meat
- 1/3 cup butter
- Speck pepper
- 1 egg or 2 egg yolks (beaten)
Instructions
- Peel onions. Boil whole. When cooled cut out centre of onion from root end, leaving shell of onion. Chop the onion removed from the centre. Mix all the ingredients together, and stuff the onion shell. Bake in a moderate oven until brown. Nuts may be used in place of the chopped meat. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
