Pickles
Tomato Chutney
Ingredients
- 2 quarts tart apples (chopped)
- 2 quarts green tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 pound raisins
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 6 lemons (juice)
- Pinch cayenne
- 2 cups vinegar
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1/2 ounce ginger root
- 1 large onion (chopped)
Instructions
- Pare, core, and chop apples. Mix in other ingredients and let stand over night. In morning boil for two and one-half hours, or cook over hot water six hours. Pack in hot sterilized jars and seal.
