Ingredients
- 2/3 cup fine granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 6 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Sift flour and sugar separately three times before measuring. Sift cream of tartar in flour.
- Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt, add sugar gradually, and the flour and flavoring.
- Bake in a thin sheet, in a moderate oven, in the oven for 35 minutes at 300 degrees. Cut in one-and-a-half inch squares.
- Dip squares in icing and roll in cocoanut.
