Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients and sift three times. Work in shortening with fingers. Add flavoring. Make into a roll three inches in diameter. Let stand in a cold place until firm enough to slice. With a sharp knife cut in thin slices. Bake in a slow oven until delicately browned, in the oven for 8 minutes at 300 degrees.
