Date Walnut Sauce

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup dates, cut in small pieces
• 2 tablespoons lime juice
• 3/4 cup walnut meats, chopped

Instructions

1. 1Mix sugar and cornstarch, add water, and boil five minutes. Add dates and cook two minutes more. Cool and add lime juice and nuts. If preferred nuts may be sprinkled over each dish of ice cream after it has been covered with the sauce.
