Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Baked pastry shell
Instructions
- Heat milk, mix cornstarch and sugar, add a little cold milk and pour into hot milk.
- Cook fifteen minutes. Add beaten egg yolks, salt, and vanilla. Cook five minutes. Cool, and fill pie shell.
- Spread with meringue made with egg whites beaten stiff, and one-quarter cup of sugar. Bake in a moderate oven until meringue is firm in the oven for 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
