Chocolate Cream Pie

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup sweet milk
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 2 egg whites (stiffly beaten)
- 1 pint cream
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar, add the milk, then the baking powder and flour sifted together, and last fold in the egg whites. Bake in a moderate oven, cool and split. Fill with the cream beaten stiff, sweetened, and flavored with vanilla. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Servings, 6.
- Top for pie: 2 squares chocolate, 1/3 cup hot water, 1/2 cup sugar. Melt chocolate in the water to form a thick paste. When blended add sugar and spread on cake.
