Welsh Cakes

Ingredients

• 4 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 4 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup currants
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

1. 1Sift dry ingredients, work in shortening, add currants, beaten eggs, and milk. Mix like biscuits, pat to one-half-inch thickness and cut in squares. Bake in hot oven for 12 minutes at 425 degrees.
