Fruit Dumplings

Ingredients
- 6 apples (medium size)
- 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon mixed
- 1 cup fruit (cherries, peaches or dates)
- Pastry
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Pare and core apples, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and fill with fruit. Roll out pastry dough into thin sheets, cut in squares; then wrap an apple in each square. Dip in egg and roll in chopped nuts and sugar. Bake in a moderately hot oven. Serve with cream. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 degrees.
