Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup cold coffee
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 cups crumbs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
Instructions
- Dry cake, cooky, or doughnut crumbs, and put through the food-chopper before measuring.
- Cream shortening and sugar, add well beaten eggs, coffee, molasses and crumbs.
- Sift flour, soda, salt, and nutmeg and add to mixture. Add lemon extract. Mix thoroughly.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased baking-sheet. Bake in a moderate oven, in the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
