Cabbage Savory Pickle
Ingredients
- 2 heads white cabbage
- 2 green sweet peppers
- 2 red sweet peppers
- 12 small onions
- 1/2 cup salt
- 3 pints vinegar
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup black mustard seed
- 1/2 cup white mustard seed
- 2 teaspoons celery
Instructions
- Chop cabbage, peppers, and onions. Add salt. Let stand four hours. Drain, and cover with a hot syrup made of the remaining ingredients. Pack in hot sterilized jars and seal.
